International Festival of
Francophone Authors

Celebrate the richness of the French language in the heart of Southeast Asia. Three days of meetings, sharing, and biodiversity in Malaysia.

A Must-Attend Literary Event in 2026

For its 7th edition in Malaysia, the International Festival of Francophone Authors is asserting itself as the pillar of Francophone cultural life in Kuala Lumpur. Under the visionary artistic direction of Pom Ehrentrant, this event goes beyond the borders of books to become a unique multicultural exchange platform.

Since its launch by the "Rencontre des Auteurs Francophones" network in 2020, the festival has never stopped growing. What was just a bold initiative in the middle of a pandemic has today become a engine of visibility for authors worldwide, supported by prestigious institutions and an increasingly engaged expatriate community.

"Literature is the bridge that connects our cultures. In Malaysia, we are building this bridge with passion, surrounded by a nature that inspires us every day." — Festival Direction.

The History of a Global Ambition

The "Rencontre des Auteurs Francophones" network is not just a simple digital platform. Born in 2020 from the desire to unite Francophone voices isolated by the health crisis, it quickly mutated into a global cultural force. Today, it brings together hundreds of writers from 50 different countries.

The festival in Malaysia is the flagship of this organization. The results of the previous edition speak for themselves: a 40% increase in attendance and record sales for local partner bookstores. This success now makes it possible to envision even vaster horizons, with the export of the concept to New York in April 2026.

"Diversity Without Borders"

The 28 authors expected this year come from varied backgrounds: Malaysia of course, but also Singapore, Vietnam, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, and even the United States. This geographical diversity guarantees an unmatched wealth of perspectives, making Kuala Lumpur the temporary capital of Francophone thought.
